Hi, I'm Caleb.
Journey Roasters started with a simple curiosity: what would happen if I roasted coffee myself?
What began as an experiment at home quickly became something more. I started learning the process one batch at a time—working with a small FreshRoast SR540, weighing green coffee, adjusting heat and airflow, and trying to understand what was happening as the beans changed. Some batches turned out well. Others taught me exactly what not to do.
I kept experimenting with different coffees and roast levels, learning how much difference a few adjustments could make. Along the way, I began sharing what I was roasting with other people and listening to what they thought. That feedback pushed the idea beyond simply roasting coffee for myself.
Journey Roasters grew out of that process.
The name reflects what I have come to appreciate about coffee: there is a lot behind every cup. A coffee has its own origin, processing, roasting, brewing, and eventually the person sitting down to drink it. Roasting became my part of that journey.
Today, Journey Roasters focuses on small-batch coffee roasted with care. I'm still learning, still testing, and still making adjustments with every roast. The goal isn't to make coffee complicated—it's to take the time to make it well.
This is still a journey. And every bag is another step along the way.
